You can find an internet cafe area in the Chap Court during all 3 lunches with laptops, printers, and books to check out.

We also have an “ask the librarian” button on our webpage for you to email us questions.    And don’t forget, you can now “recommend a book” on our website–just click the link!

Happy trails

Just wanted to share a few photos from the last few days in the library.   As you probably know, we’re closed for a renovation.   Needs to happen, but we’re a little sad to see the old place go, and really sorry for the inconvenience!

But we’ll be around– come by the NGC library or the Chap Court during lunch periods to find us!  And we’ll be coming to your classrooms.  Or keep in touch online–we’ll have more news here!

I’ll miss the old library–it was like a comfortable old shoe.  Maybe a little rough around the edges, but comfy.   But our new space will be beautiful and sunny and comfortable, too.    We’ll see you there!

Today we broadcast live the freshman student council election speeches!

The current officers did the introductions, then the freshmen gave their speeches over our video broadcast system.    Nice photo of the officers!

We’d appreciate a little help with a survey about choosing your sources when you are doing research!

How do you know what websites or authors or books to “trust?”

What are some clues you use to tell that the information is trustworthy?

If you are on Wikipedia, how can you tell when to “trust” an article or not?

What are your favorite “go to” sources online?

Share your insights below.  You may be included in an online video about choosing good sources, giving the “student” view!

A few new tools–

Check out Blackie, which is a version of Google created to save energy.   The screen is entirely black!   (Thanks to Gargoyles in the Library for the link!)
